Join us for a presentation on “Peacebuilding and transitional justice in West Africa’s Mano River region” by Dr. Lansana Gberie, Sierra Leone's Ambassador to Switzerland and the United Nations in Geneva. Since the late 1980s and into the early 2000s, Liberia and Sierra Leone -- the Mano River Region of West Africa has been the site of civil wars assassinations, ethnic strife and coups d'etats. A scholar of peacebuilding efforts in the region, Dr. Gberie examine the origins of violence Mano River and assesses efforts to help bring lasting peace and stability to the area.
